Pomac Forest Historic Sanctuary is a protected natural area located 31.5 km from Chiclayo City in Lambayeque (Peru’s region). It protects the largest and most dense formation of carob trees of the planet. In addition, its 5,887.38 hectares are a fascinating place where the biological and cultural diversity offer to visitors an unforgettable mix of nature and history.

The biological diversity of Pomac Forest Historic Sanctuary allows to preserve typical species of dry forest and 36 pyramids of Sican culture. Currently, eighty nine bird species have been registered of which sixteen are endemic to the region, five belong to Peru and two have not been found in any other protected area.
